Paul Ryan Phipps, 32, of Phoenix, Arizona passed away on December 7th, 2011.
Paul was born in Provo, Utah March 26th, 1979 to Miriam (Trunnell) Plantt and Wayne Hamrick. He grew up in Oklahoma, South Carolina, and Orem, Utah with his siblings and his adopted father, Malcolm Phipps. He was a talented artist from the time he could grasp a pen, drawing comics and caricatures, and paid illustration work before he was out of high school. Paul served a colorful LDS mission in Ivory Coast, Africa, speaking french. He was a born salesman, with amazing confidence and willpower.
Paul can truly be characterized by his compassion and great love for his friends and family. He would bend over backwards to help anyone in need. His best role was as a father to his 4 beautiful children. They were his world, and he adored them. Paul, you left a big space in our hearts. We will miss you forever.
Paul is survived by four children, Ryan, Taylor, Lance, and Rider Phipps; his mother Miriam Plantt; his adopted father Malcolm Phipps; his father Wayne Hamrick; and 5 siblings Tanya Phipps, Brandon Phipps, Lindsey Wise, Merrady Wickes, Geoffrey Yockey, and Laurie Yockey.
A memorial was held December 10th in Pleasant Grove Utah.
Paul’s family and friends wish to express their remorse of his untimely death. We will never know if we could have done anything else to help him.
