I remember long ago back in SC and Brandon and Paul invited me over to stay the night. The next day we were getting ready for Church and everyone was making their own toaster waffles. I remember thinking like I was at my house just put them in the toaster and walk away. Yeah that is when I caught the kitchen on fire or at least singed the cabinets. Let’s just say Paul abd Brandon were great friends and explained to their dad and then we went and hid in their room. What a great friendship we had back then. To the Phipps family know that even then Paul and your family were a blessing to me. May God give you a peace that surpasses all understanding.
My story is a little embarrassing but makes me smile anytime I think about it—thanks Paul. My husband and I and our little family went to our neighborhood pool and while I was splashing, doing cannon balls, and being a total spaz, I guess Paul and my husband were talking and getting to know each other a little better. Tim pointed out each one of our girls and told Paul their names and ages, and then Paul gestured over at me and asked. “Who’s that” and my husband said “oh that’s my wife”. Paul in shock said, “Oh I thought she was one of your daughters”. After Paul left my husband teased me for days about being mistaken for his child, it is kinda funny I guess. Paul never made that mistake again and he went out of his way to run up to me anytime he saw me and say “hi you’re are Tim’s WIFE . . . ” I didn’t care that I had a name, but he always called me Tim’s wife, I thought it was adorable. Paul was a great friend and an amazing father. I also remember Paul would always call me first to get permission to have my husband go play video games with him and his friends. Paul you will be missed and you have left and impression on the hearts of those around you, even the ones you didn’t even know on a first name basis : )
For the past 5 months, Paul brought so much happiness and fun to my life. He was by far my best friend and the one person in the world I could count on and trust. Him and I laughed pretty much 90% of the time we spent together. He showed me and my children how to make any situation a positive situation. I will never forget the time it was raining cats and dogs outside. My street was nearly flooded. I was inside the house cooking tacos for dinner and the next thing I know, my kids were yelling at me to come out front. I couldn’t imagine why they wanted me to come out front because it was raining like crazy! I went outside and saw my 3 kids and paul (who was acting like a kid) jumping around, splashing and playing in the rain with each other. Before I could say anything about it, Paul was running over to me and threw a bucket of water on me and said “get out here and play in the rain with us!” We all played in the rain and then ate tacos later. It’s a day my children still talk about and one of many memories we will never forget.
Happy Birthday Babe! You are my angel…now and forever. I was remembering last night how we were in San Diego visiting your dad. We walked along the beach in La Jolla and played in the tide pools. We watched the sunset go down and you looked into my eyes told me you loved me and I will always be your angel. We kissed as the sun set. What an amazing, romantic memory:)
